Marco Federici (CEO of MLC Productions) is an award winning filmmaker and versatile creative. Throughout a highly experienced career in multimedia, Marco has devised, produced and delivered high-level content for national broadcasters, academic institutions, national press and global brands.
MLC Productions are a BBC Approved Independent TV Production Company delivering engaging, story driven programming for their channels and online platforms. During 2019, Marco devised and produced a pioneering IGTV series for BBCScotland. The first of its kind for the BBC: "The Logans: Band of Sisters" focused on the struggle of an up-and-coming country band, proving so popular that a series is now commissioned and in development for TV.
MLC also specialise in academic films and documentaries, including the prestigious "Restoration Reels" series for Historic Environment Scotland which documents the restoration of Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh Building. Eleven academic films will premier late 2020, in addition to the release of co-produced content for AHRC funded VR projects. One of these films examined the reclaiming of the school's plaster casts and premiered at SXSW 2019 to great acclaim.
Marco's photography has been published internationally through the BBC, News International, Mirror Group, Global Radio, Herald Scotland and Independent News & Media Ltd. His recent awards include: Edinburgh International Film Festival 2019 (Johnnie Walker "Walk With Me" Award 2019). Newspaper Society Award Winner (Regional and National) and Milan International Film Festival 2019 (Winner: Best Original Soundtrack for "An Introduction to Art and Healing" - and runner up in 3 additional categories: Best Short Documentary, Best Documentary, Best Art and Education Film).
